Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Jack Alolome has shared how his association with President John Dramani Mahama helped him secure a visa to travel to the United States.

In a video shared on X on June 25, 2026, Jack Alolome recounted his experience obtaining a US visa, revealing that he had nearly been denied on several occasions.

According to him, he was refused a visa three consecutive times, partly because he struggled during the interview process while attempting to communicate in English.

Recounting how he eventually secured a visa for his recent trip to the United States, Jack Alolome explained that he decided to request the services of a translator during the interview.

He noted that during the interview, he mentioned that he occasionally sings for President John Dramani Mahama.

According to the gospel musician, the consular officer became interested after learning about his association with the president, which ultimately contributed to his successful application.

“I was determined during this recent trip. One of my friends had used a translator during his visa application and advised me to do the same. So when I got there, I requested a translator. While speaking through the translator, I mentioned that I sing for the president.

“The moment the consular officer heard that I sang for the president, she stopped typing and seemed surprised. That was how I got my visa to travel to the United States,” he said.
