Popular Ghanaian fashion icon, Nana Akua Addo
Ghanaian fashion icon Nana Akua Addo has recounted how a business trip to China changed her perception of wealth and success after witnessing the scale of entrepreneur and influencer Kwatemaa Andoh's operations.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM on June 25, 2026, Nana Akua Addo said she travelled to China with $50,000 to purchase furniture for her home, believing the amount was substantial.
“I took $50,000 to China and I was feeling big. I was going to buy furniture to renovate my house. I felt like a big girl because I thought the money was enough,” she stated.
However, she explained that her perspective changed after seeing Kwatemaa Andoh purchase goods on a much larger scale.
“When I got there, Kwatemaa Andoh loaded six 40-foot containers. I was so shocked and started respecting her from there,” she shared.

Nana Akua Addo also used the opportunity to commend popular Snapchat influencer Dulcie Boateng, citing the massive attendance at her annual events as evidence that the creative industry has evolved.
According to her, digital creators and influencers now wield significant influence and should be given the same recognition as traditional celebrities.
“Again, Dulcie Boateng’s event, which she does every year, if we should add five of our A-list stars, they wouldn’t be able to pull the kind of crowd Dulcie pulls at her event,” she noted.
She therefore urged stakeholders in Ghana's entertainment and creative industries to embrace all forms of creativity instead of drawing distinctions between traditional celebrities and digital creators.
“Time has changed. Let’s embrace all these creatives so that our industry will grow,” she added.
