Fredyma urged the couple to keep their marital issues private
Renowned Ghanaian music producer, Fred Kyei Mensah, popularly known as Fredyma, has waded into the ongoing public dispute between Bishop Daniel Obinim and his wife Florence Obinim, appealing for restraint and reconciliation.
In a lengthy Facebook post on June 26, 2026, the veteran music producer revealed he had already reached out privately to both parties, while warning that their decision to play out their marital issues on social media could have lasting consequences for their children, their congregation and their legacy.
Fredyma disclosed that he lived with the Obinims for three years and described the couple as among the most genuinely loving he has encountered in his six decades of life.
"They are humans and have their faults, as does everyone; however, they are one of the best couples I have met in the 60 years of this ephemeral life. Truly loving and caring," he wrote.

He also paid tribute to Bishop Obinim's generosity towards him during one of the lowest points of his own life, revealing that the clergyman employed him at OBTV, paid his salary and covered his children's university fees after he lost his properties and business in the devastating June 3, 2015, flood and fire disaster in Accra.
However, Fredyma cited his own 37-year marriage to stress that airing grievances publicly only deepens wounds that become impossible for outsiders to forget, even after the couple themselves have moved on.
"When you report your partner in times of a little misunderstanding to their families, friends and the public, you might later forgive yourselves, however, the others will never forgive you," he wrote.
He reserved sharp words for those happily fuelling the controversy online, questioning what anyone stood to gain from the collapse of the Obinims' marriage.
"To those wishing that this marriage suffers, what will you gain?" he asked.
Fredyma urged both Bishop Obinim and Florence to remember the weight of their public responsibilities, warning that their children's reputations and their church members' dignity were also on the line.
"Your church members have become a laughing stock. Society will NEVER forgive you and your children will be a laughing stock at the end. On social media court, everyone is a lawyer and a judge. They will roast you if you voluntarily bring your marriage issues," he wrote.
