Ola Michael is a media personality
Media personality Ola Michael has taken a swipe at Prophet Daniel Obinim, over recent comments he made concerning a car gifted to his wife.
Speaking in a video shared on social media on June 28, 2026, Ola Michael described Obinim's remarks as unnecessary and said they reflected pain rather than wisdom.
“Prophet Obinim, the video you made makes absolutely no sense to me. If you said in the video that you’re a wise person who’s speaking, you’re wrong on that side. I would have agreed that you’re wise if you hadn’t recorded the video,” he said.
According to him, there was nothing wrong with someone appreciating Obinim's wife by gifting her a car, especially when there was no evidence of any inappropriate relationship between them.
"You spoke out of pain, saying someone you don't know has given your wife a car. Someone your wife is not having an affair with, someone she never prayed to for a car, but the person realised she deserved it and decided to bless her. Why should that make you angry?" he questioned.
To support his argument, Ola Michael recounted a story shared with him by late gospel musician Yaw Sarpong.
He explained that Yaw Sarpong once told him a woman gifted him GH₵60,000 to buy a Toyota Tundra after she said his songs had transformed her life. When the money proved insufficient, the woman added more to enable him to purchase the vehicle.

“I remember when Yaw Sarpong was alive, we met at an event and we had a conversation. He told me about a Tundra he was using that a woman gifted him that car. The woman said his songs brought a positive impact in her life, so she called her home to give him GH₵60,000 to buy the car. When they were going to buy the car, they realised the money she gave him wasn’t enough, so the woman added more to him and that’s how he got the car,” he shared.
He continued, “That’s how the Lord’s work is. People notice the good things others are doing and decide to bless them. If someone dashes your wife a car, you can’t be there and criticise her. It looks like you're hurt because someone did something you couldn't do for your wife.”
Ola Michael also questioned Obinim's claim that he owns several cars, asking why his wife did not have a personal vehicle if that was the case.
“You claim you have a lot of cars at home and you sometimes contemplate which one to use. Among all these cars, which one is for your wife? Why didn’t she have her personal car? Your wife is not your enemy,” he stated.
He further accused the preacher of contradicting himself by publicly discussing issues involving his marriage after his wife had earlier declined to speak about their relationship during an interview.
“When I called your wife for an interview, she pleaded with me not to discuss her marital issues. I respected her wishes and focused only on her personal life and music career. Yet you are the same person discussing and embarrassing her in your church. After such public embarrassment, do you think she will feel comfortable enough to stand before the congregation and preach?" he added.
