Prophet Kumchacha is the founder and leader of Heaven's Gate Ministries
Founder and leader of Heaven's Gate Ministries, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, has responded to critics who questioned why his church was flooded despite him being a prophet.
Speaking in an interview with the media on July 1, 2026, Kumchacha described such comments as unreasonable, stressing that flooding is a natural disaster that can affect anyone regardless of their religious status.
“I’ve heard some foolish people on social media saying I’m a prophet so why did my church get flooded? Even abroad, when it rains, some places get flooded. If my church gets flooded and you’re happily talking about it on social media that I’m a prophet so it shouldn’t have happened to me, then you’re not being reasonable,” he said.
The preacher said he prays those making such remarks experience a similar situation so they understand the impact of flooding.
“Those saying this, I pray they get to experience it when next it rains,” he shared.

Kumchacha explained that his church was not built in a waterlogged area, noting that the flooding occurred after a fence wall collapsed, allowing water from a nearby gutter to flow into the premises.
“My church is not built in a waterlogged area, but there’s a gutter behind it. The fence wall broke down and it caused the floodwater to get access to the church. Everything has been damaged, but we thank God for life,” he explained.
He further expressed concern over the widespread destruction caused by the recent downpour, claiming that thousands of people had been affected.
“I heard that about 40,000 people were affected by the flood. We should all take good care of ourselves,” he stated.
Kumchacha also advised residents living in flood-prone communities to consider relocating if possible, warning that more heavy rains are expected.
“Those who stay in places that get flooded easily should manage and move from there. Heavier rains will be falling and we pray that God should pity Ghanaians and protect us,” he added.
