Asantewaa opens up about ‘naughty’ SHS habits that cost her dearly

Popular Ghanaian influencer and content creator Asantewaa has opened up about how a teenage relationship affected her academic performance during her time at Winneba Senior High School.

Speaking in a recent interview, Asantewaa revealed that she was an exceptional student before she became distracted by her relationship in senior high school.

According to her, she frequently sneaked out of the boarding house to visit her boyfriend, who lived at Kwashieman, despite attending school in Winneba.

“I was very brilliant, very, very brilliant growing up, but when I got to SHS and started getting a boyfriend, I began running away from school to go and see him. That was when my grades started dropping,” she said.

The influencer admitted that her repeated absenteeism had a direct impact on her academic performance, causing her to score grades she never expected.

“I started getting C’s and some B’s in subjects I knew I should have gotten A’s in. I realized the absenteeism and the boyfriend issues were bringing C’s and even D’s in my results,” she confessed.

Asantewaa further disclosed that she would travel from Winneba to Kwashieman just to spend time with her boyfriend, often skipping school in the process.

“I basically skipped school. My boyfriend was living at Kwashieman, so I would travel all the way from Winneba to see him,” she recounted.

She disclosed that her actions eventually caught the attention of school authorities, who disciplined her after she was caught sneaking out with friends.

“We were caught one time and brought before the assembly. They gave me a warning, and I was deboarded for a while before I became a day student,” she revealed.
