A Plus is a Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central
Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has weighed in on the Black Stars’ performance at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup following the team’s exit.
Speaking on United Showbiz in a discussion sighted by GhanaWeb on July 5, 2026, A Plus stated that he knew the senior national team would not progress far in the competition.
According to him, the Black Stars have a habit of breaking the hearts of Ghanaians after building public interest in their matches.

He further claimed that the team appears to enjoy seeing Ghanaians disappointed after their defeats.
“The Black Stars hate to see only a few Ghanaians crying, so they had to organise a national day of mourning. They know that if they lose their first game of the tournament, many people will not be hurt.
“But when they perform, and Ghanaians begin to show interest, that is when they will lose, for many people to cry. I knew what they were doing was a build-up to a national day of disappointment,” he said.

A Plus further noted that he did not watch any of the Black Stars’ matches because he had no confidence in the team’s chances of winning.
“I was in Canada when they played their first game, but I did not watch it because I knew they would not do well. I was also in Ghana during the second game, but I still did not watch it,” he added.
