Ghanaian gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng has expressed frustration after an individual allegedly placed a container on part of the road in front of his home, reducing access for motorists and pedestrians.

Speaking in a video circulating on social media on July 6, 2026, the gospel singer claimed the person ignored repeated warnings from residents, traditional authorities, and officials from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly before installing the container.

According to him, the individual did not obtain the required permit before placing the structure on the roadside.

"The person who placed this here doesn't have a permit. We told him not to put it here, but he still went ahead and placed it here. KMA people also asked him not to put it here. I went to inform the chiefs, but they didn't mind them," he said.

Edward Akwasi Boateng explained that the area serves as a pathway for residents and questioned what would happen if everyone decided to erect containers along the road.

"This is my house, and there's a path where people pass. If everyone were to put their container here, would there be a way for people to pass?" he asked.

The gospel musician further criticised what he described as disregard for due process, insisting that anyone seeking to place a structure on another person's property or along a public access route must first obtain the necessary approval.

"Some people just want to take the law into their own hands. Before you put something on someone's property, you have to get a permit. This container that he placed here, is it fair?" he added.
