Stonebwoy reaffirms love and respect for Samini despite any circumstance
Afro-dancehall musician Stonebwoy has expressed his appreciation for his mentor and godfather, Samini, stressing that nothing can ever make him develop hatred towards the veteran musician.
Speaking during a live TikTok session, Stonebwoy reflected on his early days in the music industry and recounted how Samini played a major role in shaping his career by taking him under his guidance.
The BHIM Nation President disclosed that he first encountered Samini while he was in senior high school, where he was informed that after completing his education, he would have the opportunity to join their team and pursue music professionally.
According to Stonebwoy, Samini welcomed him after senior high school and treated him like a younger brother, which is why he continues to refer to him as his big brother rather than just a mentor.
The “Jejereje” hitmaker explained that he holds Samini in such high regard that nothing his mentor does, whether positive or negative, would ever change the respect and love he has for him.
“I was in SHS 2 or 3 when they made me understand that after I completed school, I would work with them. That was how, after I finished SHS, Samini took me in as his younger brother. That is why I call him my big brother.
“He is someone in my life, he cannot do anything for me to hate him. I see him as my big brother, and there is nothing that could ever make me hate him, whether it is good or bad,” Stonebwoy said.
In the mid-2000s, Stonebwoy was an emerging artiste trying to establish himself in Ghana’s music scene before he was discovered by Samini, one of the country’s leading dancehall artistes at the time.
Following their meeting, Stonebwoy became closely associated with Samini and even lived in Samini’s father’s house as he learned more about the music business and developed his craft.
He joined 'Samini Music', where he gained industry exposure and gradually built his reputation before eventually becoming an independent artiste and establishing his own record label, Bhim Nation.
Although the relationship between the two artistes experienced moments of tension over the years, they have consistently acknowledged each other’s contributions and impact on Ghanaian music.
By late 2024 and early 2025, the pair publicly reconciled and reunited on stage, reaffirming the bond that had existed between them.
Stonebwoy regards Samini as a major influence in his career and describes him as a big brother and a key figure in his journey to becoming one of Ghana’s leading musicians.
