Abena Moet is media personality
Media personality Abena Moet has criticised the panel on United Showbiz for their handling of A-Plus’ recent outburst during a discussion on flood-related issues, in which he went berserk at Ola Michael and described him as “senseless,” among other remarks.
According to Abena Moet, everyone who sat through the show should be ashamed of themselves.
Speaking on Neat FM with Ola Michael, Abena Moet argued that A-Plus should have been asked to retract his comments.
Expressing visible anger, she said the incident exposed bias on the programme, claiming some panelists are treated with more respect than others.
'I'm focused on development, not applause' - A-Plus
Recounting her own experience on the same platform, she said she was once compelled to retract a statement she made about herself.
“I sat on the show and said, ‘Why am I the least respected here?' Empress asked me to retract. She asked me to retract for insulting myself,” she recalled.
According to her, the response to A-Plus’ comment was completely different, as the panel looked on and smiled while he allegedly used vulgar language on national television.
“They sat down, everybody smiling. Let’s call a spade a spade, that is bias. You show us that you fear others more than you respect others. How can you force some people to retract their statements but you leave others to walk freely?” she questioned.
Abena Moet further stated that although A-Plus is known for his outspoken nature, he could have made his point “beautifully” without resorting to vulgar language.
She concluded by calling out the panellists who were present during the exchange, insisting they should have intervened.
“Everybody on that table should be ashamed of themselves. Yaa Yeboah, Empress Gifty, Vida Adutwumwaa, Kumchacha; they should be ashamed. They should have stopped him,” she added.
