Mercy Eke is a Nigerian actress and Reality TV star
Reality TV star and actress Mercy Eke has revealed that she underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in 2018 due to peer pressure and the growing popularity of the cosmetic procedure at the time.
Speaking in a video shared on social media on July 6, 2026, Mercy Eke admitted that she was influenced by the trend, despite already being comfortable with most parts of her body.
“First it was the trend and that was around 2018. At the time, it was just the trend and peer pressure. Everyone was doing it so I also jumped on it,” she said.
According to her, she already had what she considered a good physique, with only her stomach bothering her slightly.
“I actually had a very good form, like my body wasn’t that bad. I was slim and curvy, but it was the stomach that was a little bit too much,” she stated.
Mercy Eke disclosed that she kept her decision from her mother because she feared being talked out of it.

She mentioned that she and two of her friends planned the procedure together and underwent the surgery on the same day.
“I was really scared and I didn’t tell my mum. I didn’t want anyone to discourage me, so it was me and two of my friends who planned and paid for it. The three of us did the BBL together and at the same time,” she shared.
Describing her recovery, the reality TV star said the post-surgery massages were the most painful part of the experience.
“After the surgery, you get to have your body massage and I think that’s the painful part. You won’t sleep with your butt for like 14 days and you have to just lie on your stomach,” she noted.
Mercy Eke added, “When the nurses try to massage it to bring out the water, that’s also painful. When you wake up from the surgery, you will be in pain for three days.”
“I got a BBL because it was trending and there was a lot of peer pressure
I didn’t tell my mum because I knew she would discourage me. You can’t sleep on your bum for 14 days, and you’ll cry for the first 3 days from the pain… but look, it’s soft now 😳”
