Moesha deserves apology for ridicule she faced over her BBL – Kwesi Ernest

Talent manager, music producer, and entertainment critic, Kwesi Ernest, has asserted that Ghanaians owe actress and socialite Moesha Boduong an apology for the harsh criticism she faced after publicly revealing she had undergone a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.

Speaking during a discussion on Neat FM, Kwesi Ernest said Moesha was one of the first public figures in Ghana to openly admit to having cosmetic surgery at a time when the procedure was widely frowned upon.

According to him, her honesty made her the target of intense public ridicule and judgment.

“We haven’t been fair to someone like Moesha Boudong. Many of us ridiculed her when she underwent BBL. I think we owe that young lady an apology. When BBL first became popular, she was one of the first people who openly and boldly admitted to having the procedure,” he noted.

He noted that the criticism did not only come from the general public but also from other women, who subjected Moesha to insults and harsh religious judgments.

“Even some fellow women made hurtful comments about her, calling her a mermaid, saying she wouldn’t make it to heaven, and making all sorts of bizarre remarks,” Kwesi Ernest said.

Kwesi Ernest argued that attitudes towards cosmetic surgery have since changed significantly over the years.

He said a procedure that once attracted condemnation has now become commonplace, with women openly seeking BBL surgeries and foreign surgeons travelling to Ghana to perform them during private sessions.

“Fast forward to today, and we’ve reached a point where BBL has become institutionalised. Surgeons now travel from Turkey to Ghana to perform the procedure for several women during private sessions,” he noted.
