Auntie Bee says she hasn't accumulated any meaningful wealth from her acting career
Veteran Ghanaian actress Harriet Naa Akleh Okanteh, popularly known as Auntie Bee, has disclosed that despite spending years in the movie industry, she has not been able to acquire any significant assets.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM on July 15, 2026, Auntie Bee mentioned that she could not pretend to have achieved financial success through acting when that is not her reality.
According to the actress, she is merely managing to get by and has not been able to purchase any property with proceeds from her acting career.
"I haven't gotten any properties from acting yet. I can't come and sit in an interview and lie. As I'm speaking, people know me, and some stay with me at home. I'm managing my life, and I don't have any assets from acting," she said.
Auntie Bee explained that acting has not been her only source of income over the years, revealing that she has also worked as a master of ceremonies (MC) to supplement her earnings.

However, she noted that the profession has become increasingly competitive, making it difficult to secure event-hosting opportunities.
"Apart from acting, I've been an MC over the years. When I was doing the MC job, it wasn't common like today. Now, a lot of people are MCs, so people don't notice us anymore. If we don't get recommendations from others who know how good we are at the job, no one would call us to MC their event," she stated.
The actress further revealed that she has taken on various menial jobs to provide for her family, including selling different items to support her children.
"I've done a lot of menial jobs. I sell random things to take care of my children. We just survive on what I get from selling," she added.
