Shugatiti is a Ghanaian socialite
Ghanaian actress and socialite Shugatiti has shared how her relationship with a married doctor she met on a dating site became a turning point in her journey to becoming a public figure.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Atuu on UTV, she revealed that she was 17 years old when she met the doctor but told him she was 19, and their relationship began.
“I met a man; he was a doctor. All the jobs I do now are because of the man. We dated; I was 17 at the time, but I lied to him that I was 19. He was older, almost the age of my dad, and he was married. We met on a dating site,” she recounted.
According to Shugatiti, she had recently moved to Accra and joined the dating platform out of boredom, where she met several professionals, including engineers and miners.

“I was new in Accra at the time, and I was usually bored, so I was having fun with the dating site, and I met the man and some other good people, engineers and miners, though I didn’t date all of them; some merely became friends,” she said.
She also recalled secretly owning a mobile phone because her father would have confiscated it if he had known.
“My dad didn’t know I had a phone because if he knew, he would have seized it, so every time I had money, any small money, I saved it, and that is how I could afford a phone at that time,” she disclosed.
Shugatiti added that the doctor became a source of guidance and support after learning about her interest in makeup artistry.
“The doctor used to advise me a lot. One day, he asked me what I wanted to do, and I told him makeup artistry. He then asked how much I needed. I told him GH¢2,500, and he gave me the money to pay. He also took me on trips and gave me money for upkeep,” she revealed.
Speaking about her personal life, she noted that she had already lost her virginity before meeting the doctor, but had stayed away from sex for some time because of the pain she experienced during her first encounter.
“I wasn’t a virgin while I was dating him. I broke my virginity when I was 16, but I didn’t have sex again until about 17 or 18 because I was scared of the pain the time I did,” she said.
She explained that the relationship eventually came to an end after the doctor reconciled with his wife.
“The man and I eventually broke up after he patched things up with his wife because they were going through a rough time when we met,” Shugatiti stated.
Shugatiti added that after completing her makeup training, she began posting her work on social media, where she met a photographer for a collaboration that changed the trajectory of her career.
“I went on to learn makeup and started posting them online, and that’s how I met a photographer. I had a collaboration shoot, and after that, my popularity on social media skyrocketed,” she said.
