'You inspired our generation' – Lasmid honours Okomfour Kwadee with surprise visit

Ghanaian musician Lasmid has paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary hiplife artiste Okomfour Kwadee, thanking him for the lasting impact he has had on the current generation of musicians.

Lasmid made the remarks during a courtesy visit to the veteran musician at his home on July 15, 2026.

Speaking during the visit, the singer expressed excitement at meeting Okomfour Kwadee in person for the first time, describing the encounter as a memorable moment.

According to him, he grew up listening to the legendary artiste's songs, which played a significant role in shaping his musical journey.

"We came here today to appreciate you because you've really inspired us. This is my first time seeing you and I'm so happy and grateful. We thank you so much for everything you've done for us," Lasmid said.

He further noted that Okomfour Kwadee's unique style influenced many young musicians, including himself, adding that his generation has drawn inspiration from the hiplife icon's sound.

"We used to listen to you when we were young and we took inspiration from you as well. We've now grown to also do more sounds like you. We then decided to come home and see you personally," he added.
