Afrobeat artiste Davido(L) and Nigerian streamer Davrel(R)
Nigerian streamer Davrel has sparked conversations on social media after praising Ghana’s airport and immigration process during a live stream with Afrobeats superstar Davido.
In a video making the rounds online, Davrel recounted his first impression upon arriving in Ghana, admitting he had initially hoped the country would not surpass Nigeria in infrastructure and organisation.
“I came into Ghana today. I won’t lie, from walking into the airport, I’m like, ‘Damn, I hope Ghana is not better than Nigeria,’” he said.
As he continued his journey from the airport, the streamer said he was impressed by what he had seen so far.

“I started driving around, and I was like… maybe I still need to go around, but so far, bro. Nigeria can’t be worse than everybody. Everybody cannot be ahead now,” he remarked.
Davrel went on to compare Ghana’s airport experience to that of Toronto, praising the country’s immigration procedures.
“Ghana, bro, your airport… it was reminding me of Toronto, just from touching down and walking into that place. Look at how they were doing their immigration. Better, way better, not like Nigeria… don’t worry now, come and land in Naija first,” he said.
Responding to the comments, Davido told him that there was a period when many Nigerian musicians were based in Ghana.
“There was a time all Nigerian artistes were living in Ghana… calm yourself,” Davido said.
Beyond the discussion about the two countries, the viral clip also captured Davido enjoying a traditional Ghanaian meal of fufu served with light soup and tilapia, a moment that has also attracted reactions from fans online.
The exchange has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with many users debating the comparison between Ghana's and Nigeria’s infrastructure, while others have focused on Davido’s appreciation of Ghanaian cuisine during his visit.
