'I don't mind collaborating with Shatta Wale' - Selina Boateng

Award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician Selina Boateng has expressed her willingness to collaborate with dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, stating that her ultimate goal is to use music to win souls for Christ.

According to the gospel singer, she has no issue working with secular musicians provided the collaboration glorifies God and helps draw more people to the Christian faith.

Speaking in an interview on Max TV on July 16, 2026, Selina Boateng explained that decisions regarding collaborations are always discussed with her management.

"I'm working with management, so we discuss it and we feel like this time around, we don't have any program, cool. If we have to spread the word of God through music, Shatta Wale fans are all worldly people and the songs were made because of them, so why not?" she said.

She noted that her ministry goes beyond church events, explaining that she and her team attend different programmes because of their desire to reach people with the gospel.

"We attend a lot of programs just because we want to win souls for Christ," she stated.

Selina Boateng also disclosed that a secular artiste had previously approached her for a collaboration, but the project did not materialise because she was unavailable at the time.

"One secular artiste called me for collaboration, but I wasn't around," she revealed.

The gospel singer stressed that she has no reservations about working with secular artistes as long as God's name remains at the centre of the project.

"I don't mind making a song with a secular artiste if I'm going to mention God's name. I'm fully in when it's about Christ. I want to draw people closer to gospel and God, not the other way round," she shared.

Speaking specifically about Shatta Wale, Selina Boateng reiterated her openness to a collaboration, expressing confidence that such a partnership could help introduce members of the Shatta Movement fan base to Christian worship.

"I don't mind making a song with Shatta Wale and I would be able to direct Shatta Movement into Christian worship," she noted.

However, she made it clear that she would reject any collaboration that sought to influence her Christian beliefs or ministry.

"If Shatta Wale plans to push me into his world, then it's off because I won't agree," she added.
