'My wife manages my money because I'm a reckless spender' - Davido reveals

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that his wife, Chioma Rowland, is in charge of managing his finances because he admits to being a reckless spender.

The singer made the revelation while arriving in Ghana with members of his team, during a live stream with Nigerian streamer Davrel on June 15, 2026.

In the video, Davido was seen speaking to his wife over the phone, asking her to transfer money to his longtime aide, Lati, because he was unable to access his account.

"Good morning, my love. Please help me send Lati $4,000. I can't log in and I don't know why. I love you," Davido said during the phone call.

After ending the call, the award-winning musician explained to one of his friends why he had asked his wife to handle the transaction.

According to him, Chioma oversees his finances because he does not trust himself with money due to his spending habits.

"My wife manages my money. I'm a reckless spender, so she's the one who arranges everything. She's my life coordinator and I don't play when it comes to her," he added.
