Founder of Heaven's Gate Ministries, Prophet Kumchacha
Founder of Heaven's Gate Ministries, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, has said attending Bible or pastoral school is not what determines whether someone has been genuinely called by God.
Speaking on Atuu with Nana Romeo, the outspoken preacher recounted how his journey into ministry began.
"My type of ministry is prophecy. When I was young, I used to play at the Presby mission house and all the priests there kept saying that God would use me to work. Then God called me.
" Its been long. I have been in ministry for over 35 years. I've been preaching on radio for about 25 years now," he said.
On the subject of theological education, Kumchacha stressed that although attending a Bible or pastoral school is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite for receiving God's calling.
"I never went to any pastoral or Bible school. Going to a pastoral school is not bad, but when God calls you, it doesn't matter whether you went or not," he stated.
According to him, Bible schools mainly teach aspiring ministers how to conduct themselves as clergymen, but they do not determine a person's divine calling.
He added that while some people who have never attended Bible school have been genuinely called by God, others have gone through several Bible schools without receiving a calling.
“There are people who have never been to one and have been called by God.
“There are also people who have been to dozens of Bible schools and have not been called," he said.
