Sumsum says Asantewaa is facing God's punishment for leaving her first husband
Kumawood actor Sumsum has weighed in on the recent discussions surrounding social media personality Asantewaa's relationships, claiming that her current situation is a form of divine punishment.
Speaking in an interview sighted by GhanaWeb on July 19, 2026, Sumsum argued that people are free to make their own choices in life but will ultimately be held accountable for their actions.
He stressed the importance of being truthful to others, adding that dishonesty has consequences.
Sumsum said Asantewaa should never have left her first husband, arguing that she was wrong to walk away from the marriage.
"I am happy because I know God is punishing her. In this life, God gives us the freedom to do whatever we want, but when we die, we will all face judgment. If you are not truthful to your fellow human beings, that is what can lead you to hell.
“Asantewaa is still young. What she did to her first husband was something she should never have done," he said.
Blow-by-blow account of Asantewaa's fallout with brother, baby daddy and matters arising
According to Sumsum, Asantewaa lacked the maturity and understanding needed for marriage when she first got married.
"Asantewaa is not yet at the age where she should be getting married. She doesn't have enough knowledge or understanding of marriage," he argued.
The actor further criticised what he described as the mindset of many young people toward marriage, claiming that some are more interested in the glamour and social media attention surrounding weddings than in building lasting unions.
He also expressed the view that couples should spend several years together before considering divorce.
"Young people these days get married because the wedding ceremony is beautiful and they want content to post on social media, only to end up getting divorced later. Before you even think about divorce, a couple should have lived together for at least five years," he said.
Sumsum's comments come amid public discussion about Asantewaa's past and present relationships.
In recent days, an alleged audio recording circulating on social media, reportedly released by Asantewaa's brother, Kay Verli, during a public fallout between the siblings, has drawn attention.
In the recording, Asantewaa's estranged husband, Jeffery, allegedly claims that the social media personality never officially divorced him.
The development follows Asantewaa, born Martina Dwamena, publicly confirming in the past few days that her relationship with her boyfriend and father of her children, AMG Armani, has also come to an end.
Following Asantewaa’s revelations, claims have emerged that she did not divorce her husband before entering into a relationship with AMG Armani and having two children with him.
