Popular Nigerian businessman and socialite Obinna Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana, has explained the demanding lifestyle that comes with building and maintaining his business empire.

According to him, many people only see the glamour of being rich without understanding the sacrifices involved.

In a video currently making the rounds on social media, the billionaire entrepreneur dismissed the notion that his success is effortless.

"People ask what it takes to be Obi Cubana. To be a billionaire. They think it's just a joke... You're seeing firsthand what happens. No rest, no time for food. You're trying to eat on board... The next morning we are off to London again. In five days we're back again," he said.

The 50-year-old businessman said he is making the most of his prime years while he still has the strength and mental capacity to work.

"Right now it's my time. Right now, my body, my legs, my hands, my organs are listening to me. So I have to use it perfectly well so that when I retire, I know that I used my prime very, very well. I'm lucky, I'm 50, the brain is still there, all the senses are still there," he said.

Obi Cubana also addressed public perceptions about owning a private jet, stressing that it is more about efficiency than luxury.

"One thing that some people think private jets are for is luxury; it's just because of convenience. You know how our flights are, and you might not be able to get to your destination on time," he added.

Obi Cubana is the chairman of the Cubana Group, a hospitality and entertainment conglomerate with businesses across Nigeria.
