Perez Musik is a Ghanaian gospel musician
Ghanaian gospel musician Perez Musik has disclosed that he uses artificial intelligence (AI) as part of his songwriting process, insisting that the technology should be embraced rather than criticised.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on July 21, 2026, the award-winning singer explained that AI has become a valuable creative tool that helps him develop ideas and streamline music production.
According to him, he no longer struggles to write songs from scratch because AI helps him refine his concepts.
"Now I don't stress myself to write songs. Some of the songs, when I get the idea, I type it into AI, then AI will give me the idea. If it doesn't give me the idea the way I want it, I will prompt it till I get it right," he said.
He was, however, quick to clarify that he does not simply record lyrics generated by AI without making his own creative input.

"But I do not record the AI songs," he stated.
Perez Musik further explained that AI has also simplified the process of creating demos, eliminating the need to visit a recording studio during the early stages of production.
"Just like those times when you would go to the studio to do a demo, now you don't need to go to the studio. You can just do the demo on your phone, but you need to understand how to prompt it. You arrange everything the way you want it, and it saves you a lot of stress before production and during production," he explained.
The gospel artiste urged creatives to view artificial intelligence as a tool rather than a threat, noting that the technology's misuse should not overshadow its benefits.
"AI is really helping, and I don't think we should demonise it. It is a tool, and with every tool, there's a degree of abuse, so people are abusing it," he added.
