'Peller wanted us to do a blood covenant' – Jarvis reveals

Nigerian content creator Jarvis has revealed that her fiancé, Peller, once proposed that they enter into a blood covenant as a way of strengthening their commitment to each other, but she turned down the idea on religious grounds.

Speaking during a discussion on ‘The Honest Bunch Podcast’, Jarvis disclosed that Peller suggested the covenant after coming across stories on social media about couples who had taken similar oaths.

"Peller asked me to do a blood covenant with him, but I didn't agree. He said he saw on social media that some people have done it and the consequences involved. That if anyone cheats after doing it, something will happen to him or her, so we should do it," she recounted.

According to Jarvis, she rejected the proposal because she believes the only blood covenant Christians should uphold is the one they have with God.

"I believe the only blood covenant we have is with God, so all those ones are not something we should be doing," she said.

Despite rejecting the idea, Jarvis stressed that she has no doubts about Peller's loyalty, explaining that their relationship is built on trust, commitment and faith.

"He has not cheated on me before. If he cheats on me, he will die. That's the rule of our relationship. We're in a commitment, and the fact that we pray together means God is involved," she stated.

Jarvis further explained that she was referring to the vows and commitment they have made to each other rather than an actual blood covenant.

"The reassurance and the commitment are there, so that's why I said he will die because we swore an oath. We love each other, so there's no reason to cheat. We pray to God that nothing like that will happen. By God's grace, I'm certain everything will go as planned," she added.
