‘I won’t advise any woman to dig anything less than gold’ - Bukky Wright fires back at critics

Nigerian actress and businesswoman Bukky Wright has shared her views on how women should be treated in relationships.

In a video shared on X on July 24, 2026, Bukky Wright said women should be well provided for by their partners at all times.

According to the actress, men should not wait for women to ask for money or material support before taking care of their needs.

“It is your responsibility as a man to know that my woman needs to wear good clothes. My woman needs to look good, even if she is looking good for you as a man. She should be your pride. She should be everything that you want to spend on,” she said.

She argued that men who are not financially stable should refrain from entering relationships until they are able to cater for their partners.

Bukky Wright also encouraged women to pursue relationships that add value to their lives.

According to her, women should not settle for relationships that offer them no financial security or support.

“That’s why, if you know you cannot afford it, don’t date. I hate it when I hear men calling women gold diggers. What do you expect her to dig? Dirt?

“No, I won’t. I won’t advise any woman to dig anything less than gold. Don’t date if you cannot afford it, or date according to your financial level,” she added.
