Humans are wicked - Adwoa Pretty on secret recordings by ex-friend

TikToker Adwoa Pretty says she was left shocked after discovering that her former close friend, Abena Payola, had allegedly been secretly recording their private conversations, describing the experience as "scary" and one that made her realise that "humans are wicked."

Speaking on The Delay Show, Adwoa Pretty said she only became aware of the recordings after they surfaced on TikTok following the breakdown of their friendship.

"I never knew she ever recorded our conversations. But when I noticed she used to record our conversations, I was shocked. It's scary. This made me realise that humans are wicked," she said.

"We used to be tight friends. I went to her house, she came to my house, we slept over at each other's places and all," she recalled.

Adwoa Pretty also denied allegations that she had spoken ill of Abena Payola during their friendship.

"I never badmouthed her nor revealed her stuff to others. I say this without mincing words. I swear to God that I never badmouthed her. Our fallout was just a misunderstanding we could have solved, but whatever happened happened," she stated.

Recalling one of the conversations that was allegedly recorded, Adwoa Pretty said it followed an incident at a funeral attended by the pair.

She explained that her husband, Doctor Drill, also a TikTok sensation, had invited a female friend to the event, but the woman could not explain how she knew him, leaving her upset.

She said Abena Payola later called to inform her that her husband had gone on TikTok to defend the woman.

In anger, she vented during the phone call, directing harsh words at her husband, only to later discover that the private conversation had allegedly been recorded and eventually made public.

Her remarks are the latest development in the public fallout between the former friends, whose dispute has played out across social media in recent weeks.

Responding to Adwoa Pretty's account of the incident, her husband, Doctor Drill, who also appeared on The Delay Show, said the woman at the centre of the controversy was a fan of all three of them and that he had invited her to meet them.

"I had told her (the lady), whom I had been chatting with on TikTok, that this was the right time to meet all three. I hadn't met her before; we were just chatting as a TikToker and a fan," he said.

Abena Payola has not publicly responded to Adwoa Pretty's latest claims at the time of publication.
