Five-time African Grammy Award winning musician Angélique Kidjo has achieved another milestone in her career.

The French-Beninese musician has, this time around, made history as the first African singer to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In a video making waves online, the singer was seen in an emotional state as she received the honorary feat.

In the video, shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on August 19, 2026, the singer, dressed in an all-red outfit with a blue scarf to match, was seen lying behind the honorary star.

Meanwhile, music lovers and netizens have taken to social media to congratulate Angélique Kidjo on her achievement and for putting Africa on the map.
