Ghanaian actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown has revealed why she stopped making video calls with people, recounting an uncomfortable experience that left her feeling exposed.

Speaking in a recent interview on Kessben FM, McBrown disclosed that she once accepted a video call from a man who had expressed interest in her, only to later realise that he had other people watching her from behind the camera.

According to the actress, the man had told her he liked her and, shortly after they started communicating, initiated a video call.

“I’ve stopped making video calls. Someone did something which really pissed me off,” she said.

She noted that she initially considered the call normal until she realised that about three other people were behind the camera observing her without her knowledge.

“He told me he liked me and just as we started talking, he called me via video. When we were talking, not knowing, there were about three people behind the camera watching me,” she stated.

Fortunately, she mentioned that their conversation at the time was ordinary and nothing embarrassing had happened.

However, the actress disclosed that the incident made her question the man’s intentions, particularly because of her status as a public figure.

“Fortunately, we were just having a normal conversation so I had to block him after that,” she shared.

McBrown further noted that she had initially seen nothing wrong with accepting the video call because she believed they were simply having a private conversation.

She, however, expressed concern about what could have happened if she had been in a situation where she was not appropriately dressed.

“I felt like it was normal for us to talk when he called, but maybe he had other motives because it’s me. Imagine I wasn’t dressed appropriately,” she added.
