'Never say never' - Shatta Wale opens up on possible Stonebwoy collaboration

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has hinted that a collaboration with his colleague Stonebwoy is not entirely off the table, stating that he would be willing to work with him if the financial offer was right.

Speaking in an interview with Serwaa Amihere, Shatta Wale responded to questions about whether Ghanaians could ever see the two dancehall heavyweights on a song together.

“Never say never, so maybe there might be, with good money,” he said.

Pressed further on whether he would accept an offer from an investor to record a song with Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale responded, “Big money.”

He then joked that such a collaboration would surprise many Ghanaians.

“My voice will even come like Celine Dion. That’s the day Ghanaians will see that I can sing like Celine Dion, and I will even hug him in the video,” he said.

Although the pair have often been portrayed as rivals, Shatta Wale insisted he has no personal issue with Stonebwoy.

“We are not fighting. Me and Stonebwoy… I don’t have any problem with him. People should just forget. It’s just one of those things,” he stated.

The conversation also touched on Stonebwoy’s recent concert at London’s OVO Arena. Shatta Wale admitted he did not follow the show but acknowledged hearing that it was successful.

When Serwaa suggested that he should congratulate Stonebwoy, the SM boss explained that previous attempts to show support had been misinterpreted.

“The last time I was going to congratulate him, they said I was going to fight. I was just going on stage to congratulate him,” he recalled.

Responding to claims that he continues to take swipes at Stonebwoy on social media, Shatta Wale denied being the aggressor.

“I don’t do that anymore. Now it’s them that want to attack me. I think they love me too much. Most of the Bhim fans are disappointed SM fans,” he claimed.
