'Get your act together!' - Sarkodie blasts AfroFest organisers

Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has shared how he nearly backed out of a concert due to poor organisation.

In a tweet made on September 6, 2026, the rapper, who was billed to perform at the AfroFest show, noted that the concert was poorly organised.

According to Sarkodie, after considering whether to cancel his performance, it was the energy from the fans that motivated him to give his best.

Sarkodie explained that he had to psych himself up before taking the stage, while stressing that the organisers must plan their events more effectively.

"Almost cancelled my performance at Afro Fest tonight, but the fans are always a good reason not to… literally had to psych myself to get on that stage… reminded me reasons why I barely accept to perform on these platforms," he said.

He further noted that it is high time the organisers of AfroFest began organising their shows properly or risk not getting a second chance.

"...Extremely disorganized, but glad at least the fans had a good time … y’all get your sh* together," he added.
