Ghanaian hiplife legend Reggie Rockstone has expressed concern over the ongoing public feud between Sarkodie and Stonebwoy, saying he fears the two music heavyweights could permanently damage their relationship if the exchanges continue.

Speaking in a video shared on social media, Reggie urged both artistes to keep their differences off social media, stressing that fans often escalate such conflicts without caring about the long-term consequences for the musicians involved.

“My issue is why they keep bringing it to social media. It’s not everything you bring into public because it’s the fans who hype these things,” he said.

Drawing from his experience during the past feud between Samini and Shatta Wale, Reggie revealed that he was involved behind the scenes in efforts to manage the situation rather than fuel it publicly.

“In the heat of when Samini and Shatta were at war, you can ask both of them; I was right in the back. I am not here to say who said what and why who said what because of who I am. But even if I thought he was right and he was wrong, I would have to tell them to their faces,” he stated.

According to him, while fans treat celebrity feuds like football rivalries, the artistes themselves are left to deal with the lasting damage to their relationships.

“They have fan bases, and the fan bases don’t care about their relationship. They are like football fans; after they insult you they go and sleep, but the relationship between these two brothers is really getting sour,” he said.

Reggie said although lyrical battles are part of hip-hop and dancehall culture, the current disagreement appears to go beyond music.

“If you talk about lyrical beef then hip-hop and dancehall we understand, and even that annoys me sometimes, but this one is deep. I don’t want that five years from now Sarkodie and Stonebwoy will meet each other and not speak,” he said.

He further warned that while some supporters enjoy the back-and-forth without taking it seriously, others harbour genuine hatred that could lead to unnecessary confrontations.

“One day these so-called fans, one will stab the other. There are two types of fans: there are the ones that will indulge, but they don’t take it seriously, then there are the ones who are haters,” he added.

The hiplife pioneer advised both artistes to move on if reconciliation proves impossible, insisting that they do not have to be friends to continue making music.

“If the problem cannot be solved, then everyone should go their separate ways and make their music, that is all. After all, they don’t live in each other’s house. You don’t have to get along with everybody,” he stated.

Reggie also dismissed suggestions that the situation could become physically violent between the two musicians, while defending Sarkodie’s recent comments.

Sarkodie and Stonebwoy will never be violent towards each other, I, Reggie, said so. Even what Sark wrote wasn’t disrespect; he just said how he felt. At the end of the day, the music is supposed to bring us together, not violence,” he added.
