Omotola Jalade praises her husband for his role in keeping their marriage together
Popular Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade has credited her husband, Matthew Ekeinde, for playing a major role in keeping their marriage together over the years.
Speaking in a recent interview sighted by GhanaWeb, the actress disclosed that her husband has had to deal with greater pressure in their relationship, particularly because of her fame.
“My husband should be given more credit for keeping this marriage together than me, and that’s the truth. As the man, he has more pressure than me. I’m the famous one, even though he’s also famous now. He’s the one at the receiving end,” she said.
According to Omotola, her husband has managed both her and their marriage with maturity, while doing things she has come to realise many men do not do.
“He gets the praises and he’s the one everything falls back on. He has managed himself and me very well, and he has managed this union very well. He’s a very mature person, and there’s so much he does that I’ve come to realise a lot of men don’t do,” she stated.

Omotola stressed that relationships differ from one couple to another and that there is no universal formula for maintaining a marriage.
“The truth of the matter is that every relationship is not the same, so it’s not one size fits all. People are different and experiences are different. What we can do is tell you how you can manage the peculiarities because at the end of the day, it takes two,” she explained.
She further admitted that she considers herself the more difficult partner in her marriage and praised her husband for knowing how to handle her.
“You can be a very bad person, but things can change with the way I handle that, unless it’s an extreme situation. In my relationship, I’m the difficult one and I’ve seen how he’s been able to handle me,” she shared.
Omotola added that she often tells people that she may not have been able to marry another man because of her personality.
“I used to say that if I wasn’t married to my husband, no other man could have handled me because I know myself,” she added.
“My Husband should be given more credits for keeping our marriage than me because if not him, I don't think there's any other man that's capable of handling my bad character”😂😭
