Ghanaian musician Nana Frema Koranteng has claimed that she became pregnant with her second child without having sexual intercourse, likening the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy to the biblical account of Mary and the birth of Jesus Christ.

Nana Frema made the revelation during an interview with MzGee while recounting the unexpected arrival of her second son, Jaden.

According to the musician, there was no sexual intercourse or penetration between her and her husband during the period in which she became pregnant.

“I did not get my second baby through sex or sexual intercourse,” Nana Frema said.

She maintained that the pregnancy was a surprise to both her and her husband and described Jaden as a “gift of God.”

Nana Frema said her mother initially struggled to believe her account of how she became pregnant until, according to her, a prophet contacted her mother and spoke about a child who was coming.

She recalled the prophet telling her mother that the child's coming was “like the coming of Christ.”

Nana Frema then drew a comparison between her own experience and the biblical account of Mary.

“So, like, Mary,” she said.

She further attributed the pregnancy to divine intervention, saying: “I know why, and I know how Jaden came, but it was the will of God, not through sex, not through sex.”

The musician, however, stopped short of explaining publicly what she believes was the actual circumstance through which the pregnancy occurred.

She said there was a “backstory” to Jaden's conception that she knows but was not prepared to share on television.

Nana Frema said she first suspected that she might be pregnant after experiencing unusual tiredness while moving from her old residence to a new one.

The symptoms reminded her of her first pregnancy, prompting her to suggest that she and her husband take a pregnancy test.

Her husband initially questioned the possibility because she had recently had her menstrual period. They nevertheless took a test, which Nana Frema said confirmed that she was pregnant.

The pregnancy was not planned, she said, and both of them were surprised by the result.

Nana Frema is now a mother of two sons, Marshall and Jaden.

While recounting the experience, she repeatedly stressed that Jaden was not conceived through sexual intercourse and attributed his arrival to the will of God.
