Iona Reine speaks after two failed marriages
Ghanaian singer Iona Reine has revealed that she is not giving up on marriage despite experiencing two failed marriages.
According to the singer, she is willing to walk down the aisle again in her quest to find the right man, even if it means getting married as many as 10 times.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM on September 29, 2026, Iona said her experiences have taught her that there is no guaranteed formula for making a marriage work.
“I will marry again and in fact, I will marry as many, even if it means marrying 10 times to find the right man,” she said.
Iona explained that people can do everything they believe is necessary to build a successful marriage, including praying, waiting for years and studying their partners carefully, yet the union may still fail.
“The little experience I have about marriage has made me realise that you can do all the right things; you can pray, wait for years, study a man for 10 years before getting married and it doesn’t work out. There’s no rule for marriage to last,” she stated.

She noted that while some couples meet and get married after only a few months of dating and go on to have successful marriages, others can spend several years together before marriage and still end up divorcing.
Iona, who was married for two years in her most recent union, said the outcome of a marriage depends largely on the individuals involved and their mindset.
“People meet people for three months, then get married and it works. You will also date someone and do abortions for him; they will get married and it will not work. It doesn’t matter what you will do; if it will work, it will. Depending on who you’re with and the person’s mindset,” she shared.
The singer, however, declined to disclose the specific reasons behind her divorce, insisting that the matter is private and not for public discussion.
She also disclosed that she continues to wear her wedding ring despite no longer being married, explaining that it helps keep some unwanted admirers away.
“I’m still wearing my ring to protect me from certain scorpions so that when they see me in town, they won’t bother to approach me. Some are also stubborn; even if they see the ring, they would still approach you,” she added.
