‘Only Despite and Ibrahim Mahama can compete with my achievement’ - LilWin brags

Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah (LilWin) has boasted about being the only Ghanaian filmmaker to have invited renowned Nigerian actors into the country, adding that only the likes of business moguls Osei Kwame Despite and Ibrahim Mahama can compete with this achievement.

In a video shared on social media and sighted by GhanaWeb on September 30, 2026, the actor, who was at the Accra International Airport to welcome movie stars from Nigeria who are joining the cast of his “Journey to Africa” movie, asserted that he has set a record in the country that none of his colleagues can break.

“Nobody can break this record unless Despite or Ibrahim Mahama decides to enter the industry. I am the only person who set a record and still broke it. So let's support so that we can revamp the movie industry,” he said.

LilWin, who is set to commence shooting his “Journey to Africa” movie, also detailed the roadmap for how the movie will be premiered in theatres and other venues.

“The movie will premiere in Accra and Kumasi. In Accra, we will focus on premiering it at the National Theatre before we look at the cinemas. In Kumasi too, we will look at KNUST halls and other centres.

“For the other regions, I am allowing promoters to promote it in the regions. In the UK too, I will give them the right to show the movie so everyone can earn some sort of income,” he added.
