The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has visited Ghanaian fashion icon Nana Akua Addo following recent videos of her being physically assaulted by her husband, which surfaced on social media.

In a post shared by the Ministry on Facebook on October 8, 2026, details of the interaction between the minister and the fashion icon were disclosed.

According to the post, the minister, during her visit, assured Nana Akua Addo that the Ministry was ready to provide psychological and social welfare support to help her deal with the situation and safeguard her emotional well-being.

“The Minister emphasised the need to provide a safe and supportive environment for the family, particularly the children, stressing that they should not be made to bear the burden of conflicts or violence involving adults.

“She noted that Nana Akua and the children would receive the necessary psychosocial and social welfare support to help them deal with the situation and safeguard their emotional wellbeing,” the post read.

The post further stated that Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey cautioned Nana Akua Addo about the need to ensure that the children were not subjected to the burden of conflict or any form of violence involving her or her husband.

“The Minister emphasised the need to provide a safe and supportive environment for the family, particularly the children, stressing that they should not be made to bear the burden of conflicts or violence involving adults.”

The post additionally noted that at the time the minister visited Nana Akua Addo and her family, the fashion icon’s husband, Harold Norman, was not available.

The Ministry, however, assured that the necessary support would be extended to Harold Norman and all affected individuals.

“The Ministry will engage Nana Akua’s husband, who was unavailable at the time of the visit, while ensuring that the necessary support is extended to all those affected.

“She assured the family, especially Nana Akua and the children, of the Ministry’s commitment to providing the necessary psychosocial and social welfare support, while working with the Police and other relevant institutions to safeguard their wellbeing, safety and dignity and ensure that due process is followed,” the statement added.
