Kofi Adjorlolo is a veteran Ghanaian actor
Veteran Ghanaian actor Kofi Adjorlolo has explained why he is not part of the star-studded upcoming movie being produced by Ghanaian filmmaker and actor Kwadwo Nkansah (LilWin), despite being contacted.
Speaking in an interview on Max TV, the veteran actor disclosed that he was approached to feature in the production but was unable to commit because he was unwell after returning from Nigeria, where he had been working on another production.
According to Kofi Adjorlolo, he informed LilWin and his team about his health condition, explaining why he could not participate in the project.
He also dismissed claims of disagreement between him and LilWin, stressing that he has always maintained a good relationship with the filmmaker and has never turned down any of his previous productions.
It's wrong to claim Nollywood made Ghanaian actors famous - Kofi Adjorlolo
“Yes, I was contacted, but I was not well. When I returned from Nigeria, I was unwell, and I made them aware of it. I have done a lot of LilWin’s productions. I have never refused to be part of LilWin’s productions before, and the people of Kumasi know that. Everything is okay between us. I don’t have any problem with them,” he explained.
Beyond explaining his absence from the upcoming movie, Kofi Adjorlolo also shared his thoughts on what he would change about the Ghanaian movie industry if given the opportunity.
The veteran actor identified investment as one of the key areas that need attention, noting that the industry requires more financial support to help filmmakers.
“I would make sure there are lots of investments going into our productions. We need more investors in the industry,” he added.
Meanwhile, LilWin has brought together several prominent actors from Nigeria for his upcoming international movie, A Journey to Africa (Nzulezu).
The production features some of Nollywood’s well-known actors, including Kanayo O. Kanayo, Patience Ozokwo, Mike Ezuruonye, Charles Awurum, Zubby Michael and Destiny Etiko.
