Veteran musician and dancer Slim Buster has claimed that most Ghanaian women are “wanna-bes” who prioritise looking wealthy and fashionable on social media in a bid to attract and impress rich men.

His comments come amid discussions on social media following reports of an alleged physical assault involving fashion icon Nana Akua Addo and her estranged husband, Harold Duodu Norman.

Speaking on Adom TV, Slim Buster said social media has exposed what he believes to be the true motives of some Ghanaian women.

According to him, such attitudes were less visible in the past because people's lifestyles were not constantly on display online.

“One thing I have noticed is that most Ghanaian women are ‘wanna-bes.’ Previously, we did not know that this was how they were, but social media has now revealed how Ghanaian women are,” he said.

The veteran musician further claimed that many Ghanaian women are not interested in relationships with men who are at a similar level financially. Instead, he argued, they prefer extremely wealthy men, even when the relationships involve physical abuse.

He said the desire to maintain a certain image on social media could lead some women to remain in abusive relationships because they want to appear wealthy and live a lifestyle that others admire.

“They have made up their minds that a man their age who is working and can take care of them is not what they want. Instead, they are looking for rich men rather than sensible men. So, even when they are being beaten, they do not seem to mind because they are ‘wanna-bes’ who want to impress people and be seen as part of the cool ones,” he noted.

Slim Buster also claimed that he could often judge a person's character based on their appearance in photographs.

“I am an expert when it comes to pictures. I can tell a woman’s character just by looking at her face. I can identify a woman who is sensible and one who is not,” he added.
