Arnold blasts Obinim for allowing church members to disrespect Florence

Entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has criticised the founder of International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, over his handling of the divorce proceedings involving his estranged wife, Florence.

A video surfaced on social media showing Bishop Obinim asking one of his junior pastors to read out Florence’s demands, which reportedly include properties and matters concerning their children.

Reacting to the development, Arnold criticised the pastor for making private family matters public, arguing that the approach undermined his estranged wife’s dignity.

He also expressed concern about the decision to discuss matters involving the children publicly, warning that it could have serious repercussions for them in the future.

“We weren’t there, so I try to exercise some restraint; I can’t go into the merits and demerits of the case. However, there are four things that worry me. First, it is very unfortunate for Bishop to create an environment for ordinary church members to disrespect Florence. The man who read it could be Florence’s father, so if the pastor is going astray, he wasn’t supposed to follow him. You’re insulting the woman despite her sweat and efforts.

“Secondly, the effect divorce has on kids is traumatic. Despite all the trending issues, the man is putting them in the spotlight to be involved in the altercation? Why?” he questioned in Twi while speaking on United Showbiz, aired on UTV on October 17, 2026.

The entertainment critic also faulted Bishop Obinim for what he described as a boastful attitude in addressing the matter publicly. He urged the pastor to be mindful of his statements and seek an amicable resolution.

“Thirdly, the pastor has every right to give church members an update, but the manner was not right; the backing vocalist even surprised me. Fourthly, in one of the videos, he said he has money to the extent that his perfume can pay someone’s rent. The self-aggrandisement is eating into Bishop; he should be careful and slow down.

“See, David had a big army, and one day he decided to conduct a census, and God got annoyed and killed 70,000 at once. A similar thing happened to Nebuchadnezzar,” he cautioned.
