Ghanaian actress Xandy Kamel has taken a swipe at critics over what she describes as unsolicited advice following her recent comments.
Recently, Xandy Kamel, in an interview with Emelia Brobbey, recounted spending time celebrating her ex-husband’s birthday on the same day her first son was buried.
According to the actress, she could not attend her son’s burial because of her love for her then-husband. She added that her estranged husband had also consumed some alcohol, and she did not feel comfortable leaving his side.

“I remember September 17, which was my ex-husband's birthday. That same day, my first son was being buried. He had finished writing his BECE and followed his friends to Sakumono Beach, but he never returned. He drowned.
“We were at home when we received the news of his death, but I could not go to his burial that day because I was in love with my ex-husband and we were celebrating his birthday. So, it was my mother who went to bury my late son,” she recalled.
In a new development, Xandy Kamel, in a video shared on Instagram and sighted by GhanaWeb on October 22, 2026, revealed that some individuals had called to advise her about what she said during the interview.
According to Xandy, some of the individuals told her that she should not have disclosed the details during the interview, while others suggested that she could have expressed herself differently.
Reacting to what she described as unwanted advice, Xandy Kamel questioned why the individuals felt entitled to tell her how to go about her own life.
“After my interview with Emelia Brobbey, some people have called me, and others have sent me a series of messages in my DMs. Some are saying I should have kept it to myself. Others are also saying I could have said it in a different manner.

“How dare you tell me what to say and not to say? Who even gave you the moral right to tell me what to say about myself? Do you know me better than myself?” she said.
Xandy Kamel further noted that she is not a hypocrite or a pretender and believes it was the right time to take accountability for her own actions.
“So you people were expecting me to keep it to myself? I am not a hypocrite or a pretender. I don’t live a fake life, so the fact that someone has wronged me doesn’t mean I am a saint,” she added.
