Ghanaian singer Gyakie has criticised GHOne TV after the station’s X page shared a news card with the headline, “I’m single. I’m currently searching for a boyfriend,” despite discussing her new music, upcoming EP and concert during the interview.
Responding to the post on X, Gyakie expressed disappointment over the editorial focus, stressing that her relationship status was not what she wanted audiences to take away from the interview.
“We spoke about so many important things. I have a new song out, I have an EP coming soon & I have a concert coming up as well, yet this is what you decide to highlight?? I am not looking for a boyfriend, please,” she wrote.

The post quickly attracted reactions from social media users, many of whom accused the media house of using a clickbait headline to drive engagement instead of highlighting her music.
Several users backed the singer, arguing that conversations about female artistes are often reduced to their dating lives while major career milestones receive little attention.
Others specifically criticised the choice of headline, describing it as clickbait.
Gyakie is currently promoting a new single, with an EP and a concert also in the pipeline, projects she indicated deserved greater attention than speculation about her love life.
