Sister Derby is a Ghanaian musician and socialite
Ghanaian singer and media personality Sister Derby has weighed in on the ongoing allegations against the Obuasi headmaster, Zakaria Abdulai.
The entertainer criticised individuals defending the headmaster despite the multiple rape allegations against him, arguing that it is safer to support an accuser who later turns out to be dishonest than to defend an alleged rapist.
In a post shared on X, Sister Derby dismissed claims that the headmaster should only be considered guilty if found culpable by a court, stating that such arguments reflect a lack of concern for victims of sexual abuse.
‘I am not looking for a boyfriend’ – Gyakie calls out media outlet’s headline after interview
“To anyone saying the headmaster is only guilty when / if proven in court: Aside from the fact that I think you low-key don’t care about young boys, young girls or women, you’re also very dumb for defending someone who’s been accused of rape multiple times,” she wrote.
She further argued that defending a person facing multiple rape allegations carries greater moral consequences than believing an accuser whose claims may later prove false.
“Because, last last, it’s better to have defended a liar than to have defended a rapist!” she added.
Her comments come amid widespread public debate over the allegations involving the Obuasi SHS headmaster, with many Ghanaians expressing differing views on the matter as investigations continue.
