Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has blamed employees’ lack of commitment, low productivity and misuse of company resources for the collapse of some businesses.

Speaking on Starr FM on October 28, 2026, the broadcaster said some workers fail to demonstrate the dedication and responsibility needed to help organisations grow, contributing to their financial difficulties.

“Employees must be dedicated, committed, compassionate about what you’re doing,” she said, highlighting the need for workers to take their responsibilities seriously.

She cited practices such as using working hours for personal activities, engaging in private businesses on company premises and using organisational resources for purposes unrelated to work.

According to Nana Aba, some employees use their employers’ internet connections to promote and sell personal products, including shoes, bags and other items, instead of focusing on their assigned duties.

She also raised concerns about workers who spend time betting or accessing inappropriate content using company internet resources.

“They come into the organisation and they're in there working but using company resources for something else. It could be the internet; they're using it for their online sales. They are going from office to office, selling prints, selling shoes, bags, the boys, the men are betting. Sometimes, if you're not smart enough to block the network, they use the data to watch pornography,” she shared.

Nana Aba further criticised employees who believe they have done enough work by the afternoon and are eager to leave, regardless of whether they have fulfilled their responsibilities.

“The one thing that goes around the most is, 'Is the job for your father or mother?' Such conversations and then you have the issues of pilfering and productivity, because at two o'clock they think that they've done enough, so they need to go,” she stated.

She argued that such attitudes, coupled with pilfering and the misuse of company resources, can undermine productivity and affect business operations.

“There are too many cases of how employees have sent companies into the gutter, so I think that employees are largely responsible for the collapse of businesses,” she added.
