Only Shatta Wale and I know the spiritual secret behind ‘One Don’ – Fancy Gadam

Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam has revealed that there is a spiritual significance behind Shatta Wale’s “One Don” title, claiming that only the two of them understand the secret behind the name.

Speaking in an interview sighted by GhanaWeb on October 28, 2026, Fancy Gadam recounted a conversation he had with Shatta Wale ahead of the latter’s birthday, during which the dancehall artiste requested 20 cows as a birthday gift.

“There’s some spiritual thing behind Shatta Wale’s One Don name. If you’ve not reached there, no one can call you One Don. It’s only Shatta Wale and I who know the secret. If you don’t get to that pedigree, you can never be called that name,” he stated.

According to Fancy Gadam, Shatta Wale told him that the two of them shared something special that had been given to them by a figure he referred to as their father.

Fancy Gadam said he was initially confused when Shatta Wale mentioned what their father had given them, but he later understood the reference.

“When he called me, he said his birthday was coming, so he would want me to come and pass through for him. If I’m coming, he needs 20 cows as his birthday gift, and I said no problem, I would give it to him,” he said.

He continued, “Then he said, ‘I know that what Baba gave him and I, no one has it again.’ I was confused, so I asked who Baba was, and he said our father. Then I remembered.”

Fancy Gadam also pointed to Shatta Wale’s success and blessings, suggesting that he had experienced similar blessings himself.

“Can’t you see how blessed Shatta Wale is? That’s the same way I’m also blessed. That’s how I got on the Shatta Fest stage,” he shared.

He further disclosed that Shatta Wale had informed him about plans to organise another edition of Shatta Fest in Kumasi and had indicated that he would want him to be part of the event.

Fancy Gadam said he would gladly perform at the event if his schedule allowed, describing Shatta Wale as his brother.

“He said he’s doing another one in Kumasi, so he would still need me on board. I will pull up for him if I’m not booked because Shatta Wale is my brother,” he added.
