Factually reliable sources have told News that the Editor of an Accra-based daily newspaper recently collapsed inc court during the hearing of a case in which his son is alleged to have forcefully had hot sex with a university female student and recorded the rape on video.
The sex video got widely circulated until the girl’s parents saw a copy and reported the case to the police. When the case was recently called at an Accra court, the Editor could not stand it. He literally collapsed and was rushed to a private hospital at Ridge. It is not clear if the collapse was as a result of a shock or other health-related reasons, but it happened in court when his son’s case was being heard.
Eyewitnesses told’ News One’ that when the Editor collapsed, it was his driver who rushed to lift him up but because of his weight, the driver had to call for help from others. Eventually, about six persons were said to have to helped in carrying the Editor into a vehicle in which he was driven to the hospital.
The boy, a first year student believed to be about twenty years old, has denied the allegation and pleaded not guilty. He goes by an Akan name that starts with the letter ‘F’. The boy was initially denied bail with an explanation that the nature of the alleged offence was not one that could be granted bail. The father however reportedly fell on another Editor who doubles as a lawyer and the latter managed to work out a bail for the boy. Gossip picked up from his school mates suggest that the boy knows his victim quite well. Indeed, they are said to be friends who chat a lot.
During one of their recent conversations, the lady was said to have told the boy that she was tired after having fetched some jerry cans of water and that she needed some rest. He then proposed to give her a drink to re-energise her. The drink reportedly contained some drugs which made her drowsy and he then took advantage of her current condition and had several rounds of hot sex with her while recording it on video. It is unclear how the video got widely circulated but the girl’s parents somehow managed to get a copy of it. They then confronted their daughter who was quick to reveal the one responsible for it.
The case was then reported to the police, after which investigations were done and the boy picked up. The dad is reported to be very worried over the development. He has maintained an enviable reputation and comported himself as a professional senior journalist who is perceived to have his home intact. He is light-skinned, fat from being a slim person, does not keep hair on his head and has a good sense of humour. His office is located in a residential area and near the American Embassy and he likes writing stories about voting patterns and electoral results.
