“The Salt-N-Pepa Show” To Start On Viasat 1

Wed, 29 Jun 2011 Source: --

Ghana’s Entertainment television channel- Viasat 1 is set to air a new reality television show this week. The half hour “The Salt-N-Pepa Show”, which premieres at 3:30pm on Sunday 3rd July 2011, is a reality show documenting the events from the life of famous 1980’s pop duo Salt-n-Pepa, several years after their breakup.

Two themes emerged from the first episode: Pepa's lingering bitterness from how Salt abruptly departed the group years ago, which Salt attempted to soothe with an apology; and a cultural conflict between the ladies, as Salt's strong Christian commitment leads her to renounce the duo's raunchy lyrics and dance moves from their former performing days, whereas Pepa wants to continue performing, like the "old" days.

The remainder of the episodes shows the duo as they explore the idea of reuniting. Two seasons of the Salt-N-Pepa Show will run sequentially and is expected to end in September. The channel will not only premiere the new SALT-N-PEPA SHOW but also new seasons of the CSI New York and America’s Next Top Model franchises.

On the same day (Sunday 3rd July) The Salt-N-Pepa show premieres, Season 9 of the popular modeling reality series America’s Next Top Model premieres at 2:30pm. Created, Produced and Hosted by Former Victoria Secret top model Tyra Banks, the America’s Next Top Model franchise has been acclaimed one of reality TV’s most successful ventures. Up to cycle 8 the show has produced some of high fashion’s best runway models and fashion world’s commercial models the likes of Eva Pigford, Yoanna House, Caridee English and Eugena Washington. Season 9 has been adjudged the franchise’s most successful. Season 9 of America’s Next Top Model premieres Sunday 3rd July 2011 at 2:30pm and airs every Sunday thereafter.

Season 2 of the CSI New York series takes off on Thursday 30th June 2011 at 9pm. This comes after a successful rerun of season 1 of the serial. The second season of CSI: NY which has never aired on the channel consists of 24 episodes. The season introduces a new regular character, Lindsay Monroe, after regular Aiden Burn was fired. It is expected to run till first week in August.

Other new programs slated for first time showing on Viasat 1 in the month of July include; a new telenovela for which a new slot of weekdays at 5:30pm has been created and an American serial South Beach expected to premiere next week.
