Not many people would want to be associated with the name Satan. But beautiful Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari has no problem to be associated with Satan as far as her movie career is concerned.

The actress, who got her big break in 2005, has said she has played many roles in her career but is yet to be challenged with a tough one. One of the roles she is currently anticipating in her career is playing Satan, which she believes will be challenging.

“As an actress, I believe in exploring. I don’t believe in playing safe roles. That is why if you follow my movies you will know that every character I played in a movie is different. I will love to be Satan, I will love to be a robber, I mean I will love to do a lot of things that is totally not who I am. In that way, I can challenge myself to know that I am an actress. But if I play all those safe roles then I am not challenging myself.”

Nadia made the disclosure in an interview with News-One in Kumasi during the nominations party of this year’s Ghana Movie Awards. She expressed her delight at being nominated for Best Actress In Supporting Role, for her role in HM Film’s ‘Who Owns Da City’. Nadia insisted that her best was yet to be seen. “I don’t think that there is any yet because every time I watch my movies, I feel like there is room for more improvement …but obviously there are few that I have done that I am proud of that I can recommend to people to watch. But for me, I think that I have done something so ordinary,” she added.

Born November 21 in the early 1980s, Nadia is one of Ghana’s best actresses who command a lot of respect on any platform they find themselves.

It is no longer news that the graduate of University of Ghana is the daughter of Alhaji Sidiku Buari, former president of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA). She began her acting career via the TV series, ‘Games People Play’ in late 2005.

Her first major film was ‘Mummy’s Daughter’, after which she starred in ‘Beyonce: The President’s Daughter’. She is among the few Ghanaian actors who crossed over to Nigeria’s Nollywood and also one of the earliest Ghanaian actresses to pick an award at ZAFAA in the UK.

Last year, she won best supporting actress at the Ghana Movie Awards. She also received two nominations for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2007 and 2009. Named face to Devon soap in 2010, she is an ambassador of Globacom, one of Africa’s giant telecommunication companies.
