A 50-year old man of Foe, a suburb of Bolgatanga has been lynched by a mob on suspicion of being a wizard. John Allerne, the decease, according to a police source, was alleged to have be-witched a neighbour last year and went into hiding.
A 50-year old man of Foe, a suburb of Bolgatanga has been lynched by a mob on suspicion of being a wizard. John Allerne, the decease, according to a police source, was alleged to have be-witched a neighbour last year and went into hiding. On his return an aggrieved mob at Foe, based on last year’s suspicion, pounced on him and beat him to death on Monday. The body has been deposited at the Bolgatanga Central Hospital for autopsy. The police confirmed the story to The Ghanaian Times but said they have stepped up their efforts to arrest the culprits.
