YFM is revving to begin its triangular operations from October this year, according to a news statement put out by the Accra-based radio station.
After an exciting entrance onto the radio landscape in Accra six years ago, and a move into Takoradi three years ago, Brand Y is now set to complete its ‘Golden Triangle' strategy by stretching into Kumasi.
The station will mark this milestone entry with the return of the Soulman, Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong aka Nockus, the host of the 'Dryve of your Lyfe' who has been off the airwaves of the station for the past three months.
The station is believed to be a leading youth-oriented station that has contributed significantly to the vibrancy and growth of the music industry in Ghana since its inception.
The station is known for its collection of young and vibrant DJs and presenters and exciting, award winning programmes like ‘Ryse N Shyne' with Ms Naa, the ‘Mid Morning' Show with Sammy Forson, ‘Y Lounge' with Caroline, and the ‘Y Campus Xpress' with Joel.
The station also provides quality entertainment to listeners off air through its coveted events including ‘Loud in GH', ‘Area Codes Jam', and the ‘Y Hood Games'.
With its tagline, 'For the young and young at heart', industry watchers are waiting to see how YFM impacts the Kumasi radio market.
