OPINION: Provide headphones for your panel members!

Headphones are provided in a studio set up of radio stations to enable a host of his show, and his studio guests monitor what they say and what others say in their ears.

The headphones help one to regulate the clarity and loudness to hear what they say as well as what others says. However, I have realized that most radio stations find it very difficult to buy headphones for their studios when they break down.

Aside the studio of the radio station I work with, I have been to so many radio stations and my observation is that most of them don't have headphones for the guest presenters or what we usually call the panel members.

Because of this, the guest presenters are most times even not able to listen to interviews that are done via phone in the course of the programme unless they listen via their phones.

I thought it was peculiar to just mention some few handicapped stations but sadly, some big radio stations are culprits too, and it seems not to be a worry to them.

Well, it is not one of those foibles that would cause any harm to the presenter or the listener but at least one feels more comfortable when they can hear themselves speak when they have headphones on.

If you can spend millions of Ghana Cedis to set up a radio station, why can't you fix headphones when they are faulty? Let's try to do certain things right for once.
