Eddie Watson not giving up Ebola campaign

Despite the discouraging comments about his anti-Ebola campaign at the recent Ghana Movie Awards, popular Liberian-born Ghanaian actor Eddie Watson says he is not giving up the campaign.

Eddie said he would keep on reaching out to people by educating them about how to avoid the deadly virus and also lifting the spirit of people in countries affected by Ebola.

Eddie who launched the “We Need Help-Ebola Campaign” last year, produced a documentary film which starred some popular faces in Ghana’s movie and music industries including Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie among others.

The film was shown on a lot of TV stations in Ghana and went on to win Best Short Film Movie at the Ghana Movie Awards on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, which didn’t attract the best of reactions from movie stakeholders at the awards ceremony.

But Eddie said, “This documentary film was never meant to target an award. It was totally meant to help educate and lift the spirit of people in countries hit by the deadly Ebola virus.”

He told NEWS-ONE that he was not giving up because of negative vibes from people who are not sympathetic to how the Ebola virus has affected some parts of Africa.

“I am still campaigning. The documentary is showing on all TV stations in Liberia. That’s beside Youtube, MultiTV, plus other stations in Ghana. I’m going to send it to MultiChoice/ DStv, which I haven’t done yet. I want it in Sierra Leone and Guinea. I am not giving up,” he said.

“There are subsequent health campaigns I am going to start. I want to focus on prevention of most easily prevented diseases that due to lack of information and education we still suffer from in Africa. So there is a lot to come,” he added and thanked all who are supporting his campaign.
